Marine Discovery & Interpretive Centre
Our Marine Discovery & Interpretive Centre showcases an expanded range of themed fish and animals like rescue sea turtles, sharks, octopus and coral aquariums plus our amazing 360-degree Digital Dolphinarium, as well as a fascinating Interpretation of the Koombana Bay environment and its history – geological, indigenous, marine and contemporary. Your ticket is valid for the whole calendar day (9am - 3pm), we recommend 90 minutes but feel free to stay longer!

Our Centre is an immersive experience, with activity centres, interactive displays, feeding programs (4 times daily) and tours that appeal to all age groups. The aquariums tell the story of our region from freshwater river to offshore reef and feature the marine plants and animals of our temperate zone. The centre provides a unique experience that uses embedded technology along with natural displays to create a memorable experience for visitors that complements the wild dolphin experience of our beach Interaction Zone and Dolphin Tours.
The Dolphin Discovery Centre works with the wild Bottlenose dolphins of Koombana Bay and is dedicated to conservation, research and education. The centre is a not for profit organisation and thrives on the generosity of about 100 volunteers.
If the dolphins choose to visit the Interaction Zone outside the centre we will make sure we let you know. It's a great opportunity to see wild dolphins in their natural environment. There are no dolphins in aquariums or ocean pens!

Dolphin Eco-Cruise
The Dolphin Discovery Centre’s Dolphin Eco-Cruise is for 90 minutes within Koombana Bay and the local waterways - the home to over 100 bottlenose dolphins. We guarantee you to see dolphins or you go again for free. Up to 3 departures daily (please check calendar below for availability on your desired date). Our tailor-made vessel provides a 300 degree viewing platform designed to get you as close as possible to the dolphins without getting your feet wet. The protected bay offers the perfect opportunity to observe dolphins and wildlife. The team will introduce you to our local Bottlenose Dolphins as they interact in their natural environment. Many of the Dolphins seen on the cruise call Koombana Bay their home. They can be seen frolicking, playing, sleeping, travelling, fighting, and feeding during the cruise. The informative commentary from the skipper of the boat will also keep you updated throughout the cruise. Our Tour is Advanced Eco-Tourism Certified and operates under a special license of Parks and Wildlife Service WA (DBCA).
Large Groups or Exclusive Private Tours (min. 20 passengers) please email us directly bookings@dolphindiscovery.com.au. We can arrange special departure times for up to 2*28 passengers (across our twin vessels) for your very special Dolphin Tour Experience.
Please arrive 30-45mins before your Dolphin Eco-Cruise at the Dolphin Discovery Centre, the boat leaves directly from our beach. Toilet facility on board.

During the cooler months (May - September) our Boat leaves from an alternative beach approx. 5mins drive away with free parking, our friendly staff will give you direction and instructions for your departure.
