1/2 Day Wine Tasting & Coast (Afternoon Tour)

This small group tour departs Adelaide 7 days a week from
Adelaide CBD, departing from Victoria Square at 12:30pm.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the short drive out of the city
and the incredibly scenic drive through the beautiful Adelaide Hills en route
to the iconic wine region of McLaren Vale.
Once in McLaren Vale, the first stop is the stunning
Haselgrove Wines. Let your host at Haselgrove take you through a wonderful
structured tasting, and if you're peckish, you can purchase a cheeseboard to
enjoy with your wine (own expense). Just speak to your guide to pre-order one
of these.
It’s only a short drive now to the historic Kay Brothers
Wines. Have your taste buds primed and your camera ready as your host at Kay
Brothers takes you through a wonderful structured wine tasting experience at
their beautiful cellar door, overlooking the vineyards of McLaren Vale.
It’s now time to climb back on the bus as you head back
towards Adelaide.
But you’re taking the scenic route, so you can gaze out at
the Adelaide coastline as you journey towards your final featured destination
of the day – Adelaide’s beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg.
There are two options here:
Option 1 – Take a 15-minute stroll to get an idea of what
Glenelg has to offer before hopping back on the bus to Adelaide.
Option 2 – Leave the tour in Glenelg and spend a few
leisurely hours enjoying the abundance of shops, restaurants and, of course,
the beach. Pick a spot for dinner and get ready to watch one of the most
spectacular sunsets anywhere in the world.

Trams run from Glenelg to Adelaide every 20 minutes.

Adelaide Highlights with Wine Tasting & Coast (Full Day)

Depart from selected Adelaide CBD pick-up locations and begin the day with a relaxed sightseeing drive through Adelaide and North Adelaide. Along the way, take in some of the city’s best-known landmarks, leafy parklands and historic streets as your guide shares local stories and points out the highlights.
From the city, travel into the Adelaide Hills and up to Mount Lofty Summit. Take in sweeping views across Adelaide and, on a clear day, all the way to the coastline. There’s time to step out, enjoy the fresh Hills air and capture a few photos before continuing on.
Next, make your way to Hahndorf, one of South Australia’s most popular historic towns. You’ll have approximately 2 hours of free time to explore at your own pace. Wander the main street, browse local shops and boutiques, pick up something sweet from a bakery, or settle in for lunch at one of the town’s cafés, restaurants or German-style pubs.
After Hahndorf, sit back and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel south towards McLaren Vale. Rolling hills and vineyards set the scene as you arrive in one of South Australia’s best-known wine regions.
Your first winery stop is Kay Brothers, a historic family-owned winery with beautiful views over the surrounding vineyards. Enjoy a hosted wine tasting and sample a selection of wines while learning a little more about the region and its winemaking history.
Continue to Haselgrove Wines for a second structured tasting. Relax in the cellar door and enjoy another selection of McLaren Vale wines, with plenty of time to compare styles and find a new favourite.
From McLaren Vale, take the scenic route back towards Adelaide, travelling through the southern coastal suburbs and enjoying views of the coastline along the way.
Finish the afternoon with a stop in Glenelg, Adelaide’s best-known seaside suburb. Take a short walk, see the beach and jetty, and enjoy the relaxed coastal atmosphere. You can choose to stay in Glenelg for the evening and make your own way back to Adelaide by tram, or remain with the tour for the return journey to the CBD.
Return to Adelaide at approximately 5:30pm after a full day of city sights, Adelaide Hills scenery, Hahndorf, McLaren Vale wine tasting and the coast.
