The practical driving component of our Defensive Driving Program is conducted on WET ROADS at suburban speeds.
It includes a variety of on road exercises including emergency braking, swerving and multiple direction changes.


The aim of the practical exercises is to educate drivers in: Basic vehicle dynamics The correct systems of car control : seating, vision, and steering Correct braking techniques for both ABS and non-ABS vehicles Skid causation, basic skid control, and skid prevention Raising the drivers level of awareness in relation to speed, reaction times and stopping distances Learn how your vehicle reacts in emergency situations

The classroom component covers basic road safety concepts and the key principals of defensive driving including: Understanding of how a drivers attitudes, motivations, and risk taking behaviour can affect that drivers safety and the safety of other road users The Golden Rules of Defensive Driving and how to apply them to everyday driving The importance of correctly inflated tyres and the condition and type of tyres Road laws and the introduction of any new laws

Driver Dynamics Advanced Car Control Course gives you the opportunity to learn life saving vehicle handling skills in a safe and non threatening environment. We have geared this training towards controlling the vehicle at the critical limit. This course requires concentration and commitment right up to the last minute, and best of all – it’s great fun. All driving exercises are conducted on wet roads. We guarantee more driving time and better value for money than any comparable course. Our Track Days are run at Sandown International Raceway, just 20min from Melbourne.

We provide qualified high performance driving instructors, safety crew including a fully equipped First Intervention Vehicle (FIV), flag marshals, lunch and refreshments. You get a minimum of 20 minutes of free lapping time per hour, and you can have as much professional high performance driver training as you like.

Course Summary
You will need to wear clothing that fully covers you from your neck to your wrists to your ankles, and closed-in shoes.
Drivers must be licensed and provide their own vehicle for this course Course commences at 8.30 am and concludes at around 4.00 pm Melbourne (Sandown Raceway) Cars must conform to 75db sound limits (measured at 30 metres) Drivers must bring their own Australian Safety Standards approved helmet – Driver Dynamics can provide a helmet at extra cost Not suitable if pregnant Not suitable for 4wd off road vehicles, including 4wd utes - eg Hi-Lux, Landcruiser, Patrol, Isuzu Ute, etc. Open wheel racing cars are unable to attend - eg Formula Ford, Formula V, F4, etc. The Track Day includes: Qualified high performance driving instructors Safety crew including a fully equipped First Intervention Vehicle (FIV) Paramedic Flag marshals You get a minimum of 20 minutes of free lapping time per hour Optional Extras available to be purchased on the day: Helmet hire
