Kitesurfing in Kalpitiya (2-hour Discovery Course)
Overview
Kitesurfing is possible throughout the year in Kalpitiya; however, wind conditions are best between May and October. Peak wind conditions are from June to August.
Free transport is provided to the flatwater kite spots of which there are two we use; one 7 km away or 10 minutes by motor vehicle the other about 25 km away which is about 30 minutes’ drive.
High-quality equipment on rent for kitesurfing is available with any necessary transport including an optional packed lunch and refreshments as required. Tailor-made kite safaris are available to guests, depending on skill level.
What to expect
You will learn the wind window theory, how to pilot a kite and the basic skills on foil kites.
