After many years of honing his craft and working around the state of Tasmania, Ian has settled in Cygnet. Where he lives and operates his own studio. Producing a wide range of domestic work as well as designing and making commissioned work. His work is also held in public collections across the state as well as many private collections interstate and overseas.


Ian's body of work has been strongly influenced by his parents experiments with high-fired stoneware, his training with Shiga and the Tasmanian coastal environment. Producing mostly domestic ware, Ian is recognised for his beautiful forms with richly coloured, dense glazes.


Ian has allowed us to take part in small private master classes with him at his studio space in Cygnet. This opportunity gives rise to the creative guests coming on tour, or looking for something different on their multi day Tasmania experience. This is truly a real creative, get your hands dirty experience which is quiet unique and private. Ian enjoys sharing technique and time with other creative characters.


This experience can be customised alongside a local gourmet lunch option and a local wine, spirit or cider tasting. Either while at the studio or at other venues.
