Safaris Picnic Bay

Experience the spectacular sunsets and cloud-scapes at West Point, with
panoramic views over the Coral Sea and mainland Australia. Includes
koala spotting and a photo stop along the way, plus nocturnal wildlife
spotting on your return trip.

Unwind with complimentary drinks—champagne, beer, wine, or fruit
juice—while enjoying a seasonal charcuterie-style platter to share, with
your choice of a picnic rug or chair.

FITNESS LEVEL & ACCESSIBILITY
A little low impact walking can be done during the tour along the beach at West Point. This tour offers a more a relaxing wander rather than an active adventure. 

We have a drop down step to the bus that also makes accessibility easier.

GETTING THERE

By ferry from Townsville: Catch the 3.50pm (April-Nov) or 4.30pm (Nov-April) Sealink ferry from the Townsville Breakwater terminal on Thiess Drive.

By bus on Magnetic Island:

• From the Horseshoe Bay beachfront, catch the bus at 3.58pm (April-Nov) or 4.43pm (Nov-April) to the Nelly Bay ferry terminal.
• From the Picnic Bay beachfront, catch the bus at 3.55pm (April-Nov) or 4.40pm (Nov-April) to the Nelly Bay ferry terminal.

GETTING HOME

By ferry to Townsville: Catch the 8.00pm SeaLink ferry from the Nelly Bay terminal on Magnetic Island, to Townsville.

By bus on Magnetic Island: Catch the 8.00pm Kinetic bus from the Nelly Bay ferry terminal through to Horseshoe Bay or please let us know if you'd liked to be dropped off in Picnic Bay on your return trip.

WHY NOT DINE ON MAGGIE AFTER YOUR SUNSET TOUR?:
Simply prebook your dinner in Picnic Bay or Nelly Bay, and catch a later bus and/or ferry home!

• There is no access to toilets on this remote tour. Tim your tour guide will take you to facilities before the tour starts and once the tour ends.
  

• This tour is weather dependent, particularly during the wet season (between December and March).
