Monteverde Cloud Forest Bat Jungle Experience.
At the Monteverde Bat Jungle, you are able to learn all different things about bats: the diversity of bats, the abundance of bats, where they root, and what bats eat (including such things as fruit, nectar, insects, frogs, fish, birds, lizards and mice). Bat wings are different than birds' wings and also this will be well explained. Echolocation and baby bats are of course also things information to be found about.
The bat jungle has 80 live bats of 8 species in a huge flight space (52 sq m, 560 sq ft), which is designed to look like a tropical cloud forest at night. You can watch the bats and bat feeders from a "Bat Habitat", which is a glass-enclosed viewing area. While you are in the "bat habitat" you will be able to hear the echo sounds that the bats make, the sounds are transformed with a "bat detector".
There are lots of interesting exhibits which will teach you the importance of bat conservation for controlling bugs, regenerating tropical rainforests and pollination flowers. You will be taught about specific conservation issues, like making bat houses and bat exclusion (gently moving the bat from one place to another, when they are unwanted).
This tour is a nice and relaxing addition to your time in Monteverde, the tour takes only about an hour depending on how long you want to stay and observe the bats in the "bat habitat".

Monteverde Cloud Forest Sloth Sanctuary.
The sanctuary was born through the cooperation with the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary, a foundation that shares the vision of conservation, and has worked in the rescue, conservation, reintroduction, and monitoring of sloths in their natural habitat for over 20 years.
At the Sloth Sanctuary, we want you to have a close experience with some 20 sloth specimens. We’ve designed a natural exhibit where sloths can travel freely between paths specially created so that they can roam among the trees and foliage of the exhibition. This provides a safe distance that allows observation while preventing as much stress on the animals as possible. These beautiful mammals have arrived at this sanctuary as refugees from the effects of poaching, habitat destruction, orphanage, illness, and accidents among other reasons that prevent them from being reintroduced to their natural habitat.
