Waterfront Charters motor vessels take you from the historic V &A Waterfront area out to sea and cruises along the Atlantic coastline to Green Point Lighthouse and back to harbour. With spectacular mountain and city views, the cruise gives a perfect ocean view of Cape Town’s splendours. This One Hour Cruise operates daily with regular departures from Quay 5. A popular option with our Cruise and Dine lunch package, as well as many travel passes and Tour Operators. The weather option is a cruise into the International Harbour; when cruising the ocean is unpleasant, you will get a sailor’s view of our wonderful harbour with Table Mountain’s imposing presence still a thrilling factor. The Waterfront Charters 60 minute ‘Cruise under Sail’ across Table Bay is the perfect way to see Table Mountain and Cape Town’s Atlantic shoreline. Leaving from the V&A Waterfront, the routing is weather dependent; either to Milnerton and back if the south-easter is blowing, or towards Robben Island in north-westerly wind conditions. With either option, you’ll experience the excitement and thrills of sailing in Table Bay aboard one of Waterfront Charters beautiful yachts – with chilled refreshments aboard it’s the perfect way to spend an hour.

The Champagne Cruise is our second last Cruise of the day and returns to Harbour prior to the Sunset Champagne Cruise.

These pre-sunset Champagne Cruises are extremely popular as pre-dinner cruises. They are ideal for families who find the regular Sunset Champagne Cruise too late. Due to the fact that the Sunset Champagne Cruise departure times vary according to the season, the pre-sunset Champagne Cruises also have a variable departure time. Please check the schedule to ensure you are aboard before departure time.

Toast Table Mountain and the sunset from the deck of a choice of vessels with a complimentary glass of local sparkling wine for adult guests (a glass per adult guest). A cash bar is available for other drink requirements, including soft drinks. Kids are welcome and have special pricing options. Cape Town weather can change five times a day, so our sailing route from the harbour is not always predictable. But no matter which direction we take, be assured of a spectacular cruise that gets you back to the V&A Waterfront in time for evening festivities.

An eco-adventure aboard a stunning RIB (Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boat) – a combination of power and exploration as you cruise the Atlantic coastline to view the spectacular sea and birdlife, under the guidance of our experienced skippers.

The Waterfront Charters Team are always keen to offer you unique and fun ocean safari experience on the water. Our Skippers will share with you the beauty of the ocean as we well as the beauty of the cape town Atlantic coastline on our unique adventure boats. On our trips departing from Quay 5 in the Waterfront, you will have a chance to see Cape Fur Seals, Dolphins, Whales, Penguins and Sun Fish and potentially much more as we search the bay for sea life. We Do do not offer or guarantee a destination as this trip is about time on the water and looking for sea life in the proximity of Cape Town.

Our Most Popular Daily Scheduled Trip
Cape Town has one of the best locations to see the Sunset from the Sea. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching away from the majestic Table Mountain range, this is certainly a ‘must do’ cruise for locals and tourists alike. Toast the setting sun from the deck of one of Waterfront Charters amazing range of vessels.

A complimentary glass of local sparkling wine (two glasses per guest, or a bottle for a couple) will be served, and the bar will be open for all other drinks for the duration of the cruise. Toast to the setting sun once more!

Kids are welcome, and have a special price option. Cape Town weather can change five times a day, so our route from the harbour is not always predictable; the two options below are merely a guide. But no matter which direction we take be assured of a spectacular cruise.

SUNSET UNDER SAIL
The sailboats Esperance and Serenity One follow the wind for this cruise. They do not offer a specific destination for this reason; you will be advised before departure as to the expected direction. The typical Cape Town summer wind blows from the south-east; the boats use the motors to leave the harbour and then they sail across Table Bay towards Milnerton lighthouse, returning to the protection of Granger Bay in the lee of Table Mountain to watch the sunset, and then motor back to the Waterfront.

In the winter months with the northwester prevalent, the direction taken will be toward the Clifton Coastline, or the Robben Island Coastline, also returning to Granger Bay. The wind and sea conditions change daily so the routing and style of the trip also change to meet the conditions; the skipper and crew will give you the best possible adventure.

SUNSET ON A MOTOR VESSEL
The Motor Vessels Sea Princess and Southern Cross follow a different route to the sailing boats. As they are not dependant on the wind they offer a destination and normally cruise slowly along the Atlantic seaboard towards Clifton beach and then return. [/responsivevoice]

The Waterfront Charters Cruise & Dine experience is superbly complemented by our Sushi Cruise & Dine partnership with Sevruga Restaurant. The opulent setting right next door to our office on Quay 5 features exquisite panoramic views of the harbour, and the newly renovated interior offers intimate seating with a magnificent American walnut bar counter and solid wooden floors, that is a contrast to the semi-outdoor seating, for more of a relaxed feel, that boasts natural light and outdoor plants. As they put it themselves, their colour pallet is a refined cool ocean breeze, blended together with satin, earthy tones; perfect for your post-cruise culinary treat.
