Food Experience Matera

Discover one of Basilicata’s most prized ingredients through an intimate six-course black truffle tasting in Matera, reserved for a maximum of three guests. Hosted in a specialist truffle shop, the experience combines local food with the knowledge of a truffle expert who will introduce you to varieties, seasonality, harvesting methods, and the best ways to appreciate fresh truffle.
Taste black truffle in different textures and combinations, starting with toasted Matera bread with artisan truffle creams and sauces, followed by local cured meats, aged cheeses, fresh stracciatella and ricotta paired with truffle. One of the signature courses is a sunny-side-up egg topped with freshly shaved black truffle, allowing its aroma to take center stage. Finish with handmade panna cotta, truffle honey and fresh truffle shavings.
With only up to three participants, there is plenty of time to ask questions, compare aromas, and discover why truffles have such a strong connection with Basilicata’s landscape and food traditions.
