Birds of Prey Pontefract

A fun and engaging introduction to birds of prey, designed especially for younger enthusiasts. Spend time up close handling a range of our smaller birds, with the chance to fly one of our owls while learning all about them along the way.
This experience is tailored for children aged up to 16, with a supervising adult included free of charge.

Available weekdays from March to September.

Experiences take place on a working farm, so appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear are recommended (wellies advised in wet conditions). The ground can be uneven and muddy, and some walking is involved. If you have any mobility concerns, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to accommodate where possible.

All of our falconry experience days are private — just you and your chosen guests. There are no groups or crowds, allowing for a relaxed, personal experience where the day is entirely focused on you, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and learn along the way.

Meet our team of beautiful owls and enjoy a hands-on encounter where you’ll learn how to handle and fly these incredible birds. After a short introduction and briefing, it’s your turn to take control, with a knowledgeable falconer on hand throughout.

Enjoy the perfect introduction to falconry as you walk through beautiful Yorkshire countryside and woodland, with a Harris hawk flying free and returning to your glove on command. After a short introduction and handling briefing, you’ll head out with an experienced falconer for a truly hands-on and memorable experience.
This private experience is just for you and your chosen guests (max. 4 people), ensuring plenty of time to handle the bird and capture fantastic photos along the way.
