Located in beautiful Bath, Somerset, The Bird of Prey Project is a multi-award-winning visitor attraction and registered charity dedicated to the conservation, rehabilitation and welfare of birds of prey. Home to 24 resident owls and raptors, the centre offers visitors the chance to get closer to these magnificent birds while learning more about the important work being carried out behind the scenes.
Offering unforgettable hands-on experiences including Owl Encounters, Hawk Walks and Fly a Bird sessions, guests can enjoy an exciting and educational day out suitable for families, couples, animal lovers and special occasions alike. Whether you're meeting an owl up close, watching birds soar through the countryside or learning the art of falconry, every experience is led by passionate and knowledgeable experts.
With active conservation programmes, an accredited Rehabilitation Hospital and a dedicated team working tirelessly to protect birds of prey and their ecosystems, 100% of proceeds from your visit go directly back into the charity’s conservation, research and welfare projects — making your experience both memorable and meaningful.

Fly a Bird - Min 5ppl
Enjoy the exciting opportunity to have one of our trained birds fly directly to your gloved hand during this fun and interactive group experience. Guided by an experienced member of the team, you’ll learn more about these incredible birds while enjoying a memorable hands-on encounter.
Suitable for ages 5+, this experience is perfect for families, animal lovers and first-time visitors alike. Please note that we cannot guarantee the specific bird species or individual bird used during your session, and other visitors may also be taking part in the experience alongside you.
Accessibility: All flights are supervised by a trained member of the team who can provide additional support where required. Please be aware that participants may need to travel over uneven ground including grass and gravel paths. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
Please note that although your ticket is booked for a specific start time, your admission allows access to the centre for the entire day.
Entrance to the visitor centre, where you can see our resident falcons, hawks and owls, is also included within your ticket. Guests are welcome to come and go throughout the day as they wish — simply keep your ticket confirmation available to show on arrival.
Please note that, outside of school holidays, flying displays operate Wednesday to Sunday only.

Hawk Walk
Enjoy an unforgettable private Hawk Walk through the beautiful Newton Park Estate in Newton St Loe, where you’ll experience the thrill of a trained Harris’ Hawk flying directly to your glove. Guided by an experienced falconer, this hands-on outdoor experience includes a safety briefing, flying demonstrations and the chance to learn more about the bird’s natural hunting and flying techniques during your one-hour session.
Children must be aged 6 years and above to take part. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by at least one adult spectator, subject to a £25 spectator fee.

Owl Encounter
Step face to face with some of nature’s most fascinating birds during this unforgettable Owl Encounter experience. Guided by an experienced falconer, you’ll have the opportunity to handle, feed and fly three different owl species within the undercover flying area while learning about their habitats, hunting techniques and unique behaviours.
Following a short safety briefing at the centre in Newton St Loe, you’ll enjoy an interactive one-hour experience as these incredible birds fly directly to your gloved hand — a truly memorable experience for animal lovers and families alike.
