Chef's Private Otago Wine Tour & Gourmet Lunch from Queenstown

Travel through the boutique wine-and-food country of Gibbston Valley with award-winning Chef and guide Aaron. Explore the wild side of Greater Otago, the heart of New Zealand's breadbasket, on a private full-day journey crafted for serious wine lovers.

Beyond the bus routes

We have handpicked venues that coaches simply cannot reach. These are boutique micro producers crafting between 800 and 50,000 bottles a year, with releases reserved almost entirely for collectors and the most discerning palates. At Kosher Tours and Travel, exclusivity is everything, so most tastings are private and led personally by the winemaker, the owner, or a trained sommelier.

Our guiding philosophy:

  • Meet the Winemaker
  • Meet the Chef
  • Meet the Owner

A taste of what you will pour

  • Pinot Noir Rosé, Pommard clone, 2025. High acid, rounded raspberry (Chef's rating 9/10)
  • Gewürztraminer, dry, 14 grams sugar (Chef's rating 9/10)
  • Pinot Noir, 2023, four vineyard blends. Ripe and velvet (Chef's rating 9/10)
  • Pinot Noir, 2022. Great clone 115, Australian MV6 (Chef's rating 9/10)
  • HB Pinot Noir, 2023, $88. Clone 667 for colour, 777 for velvet, 6 for spice, and UCD 5 for savoury earth. 5,000 bottles, early summer fruit (Chef's rating 10/10)
  • Chardonnay, JJ. Profound bouquet, Argentine style (Chef's rating 9/10)

Food worthy of the wines

Our lunch venues are vetted to the same exacting standard as the vineyards, designed to exceed the expectations of the fussiest gourmet.

Sample menu:

  • Shared platter. Blackball venison salami, hot smoked salmon, slow-cooked pork belly, roasted beetroot hummus, freshly baked quiche, Whitestone cheese,
    pickles, chutneys, and breads
  • Mushroom risotto. Remarkable mushrooms, blackcurrant cheddar, preserved lemon, spicy emulsion
  • Lamb shoulder for two. Courgettes, salsa verde, sunflower, cannellini and caramelised onion cream, garlic pita bread, jus
  • Pure South scotch fillet, grass-fed, 250g. Mt Difficulty signature cut
  • Alpine venison loin, blackberry compote, 200g

Take it home

Every vineyard on the tour ships internationally, so the wines that move you most can be waiting for you when you return home.
