Feel the thrill as our expert guides navigate the calm waters of the Great Sandy Straits to bring you up close to majestic humpback whales. On the morning tour, there is the unique opportunity to swim with the whales, creating an unforgettable encounter before the crowds arrive.

Whale swimming is offered on all our morning tours for guests who want an immersive experience. Swimming with whales is strictly on their terms and follows our license guidelines, and is not guaranteed on any tours. The best whale swimming opportunities are from mid-July to August, as from September onwards, more mothers and calves enter the Bay.

After our time with the whales, we give you a taste of island life, as we make a short stopover on one of many pristine beaches and sandbanks of the Northern Great Sandy Straits. 

As most of our time is spent with the whales, our beach time is roughly 30 minutes. The beach location varies depending on the weather, and our experienced crew will choose the best location on the day. The beach stopover is not mandatory, so if the majority of guests on board would like to spend an extra 30 minutes with the whales, that’s ok with us! The beaches are, however, the hidden gems of the K’gari West Coast and will be sure to take your breath away with their beauty and isolation.

This tour is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Guests with mobility issues may also find this tour challenging. Boarding and disembarking the vessel, as well as moving around on deck and accessing the beach stop, requires a reasonable level of mobility.
